2009 Annual Winners
First, we want to thank all of you who submitted your photographs for consideration in the Weekly Contests and also to congratulate all of the Weekly and Monthly winners of 2009. You are all winners in our book.
We changed the selection system a little bit this year. Here's how the winners were selected.
A panel of 2 international and 2 island photographers reviewed all 12 monthly entries and voted on the following criteria with each category receiving a possible maximum points of 5.
- Composition
- Exposure
- Degree of Difficulty
- Rarity of Subject Matter
- Overall Appeal
...for a possible point total of 20 points.
Then on February 1st we handed out voting ballots to all of our guests who came to our "Meet the Captain" party and had all 12 Monthly Winners (without names) being played continously on our large Flat Panel TV at the Deco Stop Bar. We had over 50 ballots returned and they were averaged for one overall score for each Monthly Winner based on the above criteria. Then this score along with the 4 International and Island Judges scores were averaged together for one overall score for each of the Monthly Winners with the highest score winning...and here are the results...
