2007 Annual Winner
First, we want to thank all of you who submitted your photographs for consideration in the Weekly Contests and also to congratulate all of the Weekly and Monthly winners of 2007.You are all winners in our book.
We received over 600 e-mail ballots for this years annual competition. We changed up the voting system a little bit this year. Here's how the winners were selected.
Each photo could receive a maximum possible points of 10 points in each of the following judging categories...
1) Online Ballots
2) Votes from island judges
3) Vote from a very well known underwater photographer
First place in each voting category received the maximum of 10 points
Second place in each voting category received a maximum of 5 points
Third place in each voting category received a maximum of 2 points
All other photos in each category received 1 point
Then the total points in each voting category were combined for an overall score with 30 points being the highest possible total.
It was very tough judging as all the monthly winners were excellent shots but we tried to make it as fair and equitable as possible with this new system of judging.
